Traffic chart

Easily compare the good vs bad network traffic with protection activity statistics.

Visual representation of inbound traffic volume at the time of Scrubbing Center activity. It clearly shows legitimate traffic and malicious one (that was dropped by Anti-DDoS).

Moreover, some basic statistics can be found, like number of attacks detected or malicious packets dropped.

Chart here is drawn on per-IP address basis, so user must select or enter an IP address of interesting service.

☛ Additional updates

One of the related topics to network defense is firewall rule management. Knowing that it's not an easy operation, we also refreshed the user interface pages in your Control Panel to save you from too many clicks and make it more readable.

Where to find it?

  • Control Panel / Baremetal Cloud / Network / IPs → from menu you can select "Edge Network Firewall configuration"
  • Control Panel / Baremetal Cloud / Network / IPs → from menu you can select "GAME Firewall configuration" (only available for IPs pointing a GAME baremetal server)

☒ Known limitations

  - Dashboard represents only data from our Anti-DDoS Infrastructure (VAC) system.
  - Due to the characteristics of network data observability protocols, presented data may be rounded (floor or ceil) depending on traffic type.
  - Definition of a network attack (or attack vector) combines many factors and may differ across time as well as can be vendor-specific.
  - Scrubbing Center log page may not always sort items.
  - Please bear in mind that filtering needs CIDR format to be entered (i.e.: 1.2.3.4/32)

FAQ

What does it mean if I observe entries in the 'Scrubbing Centre Activity Log?

Since years, OVHcloud offers an Anti-DDoS system to protect your public IP addresses. Recently, you can review such events directly in your Control Panel. The Scrubbing Centre log is where you can find record of all detected suspicious activities. And for the most recent events, you also have the option to view related traffic charts.

I don't see any entries in the Scrubbing Center log, is this normal?

Yes, that's good! That means we haven't seen any suspected attacks targeting your public IP addresses.

Why I don't see traffic charts or logs for the public IP addresses I entered?

Such data is available only for Public IP addresses during automatic Anti-DDoS Infrastructure detection event (when traffic is redirected via the Scrubbing Center for deeper analysis or cleaning)

Why am I unable to view traffic charts for certain entries in the Scrubbing Center log?

Please note that traffic chart data is available only for the last 2 weeks, while we keep logs available for a period of 1 year.
